Emotions

Emotions can be broadly defined as affective aspects of consciousness. Emotions are generally perceived as representing a synthesis of individual experience and expressive behavior. Emotions are universal but their specific content and manner of expression vary considerably.
Let’s direct our thoughts to the various types of emotions or sentiments we all at one point experience.
I was pondering my head over why I am living my life. In fact, why precisely was everybody living their lives? What do they want to attain? I somewhat gathered an answer---all of us are searching for one thing and that is ‘happiness’. All of us are leading life that is different and yet the same---we all desire happiness and that is something we have to earn using the hard method---being good, hard-working and not speculating and being lazy ( using the easy way out).
Happiness is hard to define and even harder to measure. We must nurture spirituality—people with strong religious faith of any religion or denomination are happier than those who are irreligious. Faith provides a sense of purpose, confidence and a reason to focus beyond the self. My motto in life goes as such that “LAUGHTER IS D BEST MEDICINE”. Laughter helps to reduce stress, lifts up our soaring spirits, freshens our subdued mood and actually makes life want to happen---provide happiness.
Listening 2 music provides immense rapture and solace since music is d gateway to our emotions. We necessarily need to have positive emotions and dreams. We must ‘try’ to be grateful in spite of turbulents and we must learn to look over and above the negative aspects of things and must possess the quality to appreciate good things. Happiness can lead us to success rather than just the way round.
I am so much in need of ‘peace’ that I am ending up in a dilemma as I think of ways of acquiring peace. In a place like my home there can never exist any term called ‘peace’ because there are so many people always coming in and going out, my mom’s students always creating a nuisance all around and if ‘people’ ever give it a rest, the television starts giving all sorts of noises I detest to hear, or it’s a fight cropping up between my parents and me or mom and dad, and there is genuinely no end to troubles and miseries I am regularly subjected to. I guess u can definitely picturize how terribly unmerciful the situation is at home and here I am, a member of the house in urgent need for ‘some bit of peace.
Let me first examine the true meaning of peace. Oh well, peace is the true meaning of life---the authentic essence of life---the state of mystical bliss. Peace can be acquired, I believe, by being calm and having a cool attitude towards life n accepting things as they are. We must be forgiving and must pray to the Almighty to provide us with a serene sensation. God is within us, we do not need to seek Him elsewhere. We tend to be in constant search for happiness and peace but fail to realize that it resides within us. Peace is a relative concept---the more we run after it, the more it evades us.In our modern world we are getting more stressed up and finding it hard to be peaceful in life.
‘Love’- don’t ask me about the subject for u will have to give me a span of my whole life to understand the meaning of these four letters. Love can itself answer the biggest Q in most of ours, including my life-‘What is love?’ Only love can reveal the mystery of itself. What mystery surrounded it that the very word always gives me contradictory feelings of joy and sorrow? Can love ever be articulated in the words of the English language?
It’s a spell cast upon its victim- a spell hard to remove. One is incomplete without love-It is ‘beautiful’-is that the mot juste? It is wondrously magical- is it so? I don’t know- it’s a puzzle and we need to find the one who can solve it. Anything that brings us closer to God is love. A quote I personally believe in is: ‘Those who are sensible in love are not worthy of it’.
Why do I always feel that God gives me only ‘sorrows’? Probably that’s because we tend to forget God when we are happy. It’s difficult in times when expectations rise only to be shattered again by grim reality. Once u have expectations but do not get u are depressed and frustrated, But, once u don’t expect anything n accept life as it is, u are free n happy. We must understand the link between the expectations n frustration level. There must be a balance. Joys n sorrows r like day n night, they will go and come back again. We must welcome every emotion that God wants us to experience n thinks right for us because nobody but Him understands us best.

Since I have just turned a teenager some days back, I can greatly understand the feelings of teenagers n why troubles occur with parents. That’s because we start taking decisions for ourselves n that’s not want parents like.
We begin to want to attain independence, we now believe that they no more have the right to say whatever they like and expect us to remain dumb, we begin to dream n r always in utopia, we begin to start sticking up to our decisions, we begin to become dyspeptic n feel that we are unusually ‘big’ n think that we can understand our own good. But that’s not always right. Our parents are older than us n even after we become adults, they would still have the right to supervise us and guide us because they have more experience of the world than we do.

So friends, since now I am running short of words, I am confused about how to conclude. Emotions will follow us in everything we do n everywhere we go, but it’s our duty to not let them overwhelm us n to imbibe the good, n to shun the bad.
